GC holds strategic development discussion with IMF delegation
Monrovia, Sunday, September 28, 2025 – The Governance Commission (GC) on Friday concluded a crucial meeting with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The meeting focused on providing support for a comprehensive governance assessment, which had been requested by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, under the ARREST AGENDA in 2024.
The main objective of the assessment was to identify gaps in governance and provide recommendations for reforms, where required.
These reforms would aim to strengthen fiscal management, promote transparency, improve coordination among government institutions, and buttress anti corruption efforts to harness development in Liberia.
The IMF team will be building on their previously conducted scoping assessment and will be placing specific emphasis on Pillar-4 of Liberia's National Development Framework, which addresses governance and institutional reform.
