The dialogue third presenter, Mr. Marcus Gipply presented on behalf of Hon. Marcus D. Zehyoue of LDEA. He reiterated that the mandate of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency needed to be reviewed. He pointed out that rehabilitation and enforcement must be critically looked at in the review process of the law. He mentioned, Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency has a rehabilitation function but it is not in existence due to the lack of resources.
Mr. Gipply Informed stakeholders about ongoing perception of public antagonism to the LDEA. Whenever, LDEA personnel go on the field for inspection, he said, they were always attacked. Mr. Gipply emphasized that there was a huge challenge of manpower at LDEA which made LDEA invisible in some areas. He called for the drugs law to be reviewed and for government to provide more logistics and recruit more personnel to help fight drugs trafficking. He concluded that LDEA operation is minute relative to its mandate on implementation because of Human and logistical support insufficiency
